Dan Currie is a Mecanial Engineer and has focused his career on the design and development of products such as LAVs, farm equipment and a machine that puts icing and sprinkles on cupcakes. In December 2015 he began working at RMA Technologies in Cambridge, ON, where he has been designing electrical/mechanical products for amusement parks, trade shows and museums.
He earned his Bachelor of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineer at the University of Western Ontario in 2010. Where he completed courses in mechanical component design, automation, production management and more.
He started his career at General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada, where he worked as a Designer/Drafter before being promoted to Engineering Specialist. He has also worked for Timberland Equipment Limited as the engineering support for one of the sales teams, Marcest Manufacturing Inc where he designed farm equipment and Krew Industrial where he designed automated machines.
While at home, he develops iOS apps and games (using Unity), and writes about tech and games.
He's given an Intro to Unity talk for the C# Dev/Connect.
Dan has been volunteering with HackerNest KW, a social meet up for people in tech, since April 2015 and became a co-organizer and the volunteer co-ordinator in January 2016.
